“Krispy Kreme CEO defends COVID vaccine promotion: ‘If folks don’t want to visit a donut shop, they don’t have to’”

I am not a fan of some of the narratives around COVID-19 vaccinations, but…come on…can we not fulfill the adage, “No good deed goes unpunished?”

I’m from New England, so I’ll always be a bigger fan of Dunkin’ Donuts, but kudos to Krispy Kreme.

And if you believe in individual freedom (which includes the freedom to make mistakes), you don’t want to open the door to government control based us often not making healthy choices in what we eat. As C.S. Lewis wrote (said?):

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
