Happy Memorial Day (2021)

Although these are stock images, I think they help remind us how many have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, along with how ubiquitous the sacrificial loss has been.

Graveyard with crosses Graves with flagsThere is no way I can thank those who are no longer with us, but I can gratefully remember them…

And thank their loved ones who have given up so much so those I love (and I) can have the blessings that come with living in the greatest nation on earth.

God bless America.

Update: This was nice to see later in the day:

RIP Rush Limbaugh (and Carman)

Prayers for Rush Limbaugh’s friends, loved ones, and others this will hit hard:

Also, this Christian music pioneer passed away yesterday (heard about it on K-LOVE today):

Let me just be blunt: Death sucks.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:1-4, ESV).

Amen, come Lord Jesus.

Update:

I’ll add tweets, articles, etc. about both men below as I run into ones I especially appreciated. Read More

RIP Larry King

I worked nights as a teenager at WNHV in White River Junction, Vermont…and Larry King’s program was a staple of the overnight schedule. He will be missed.
